Walking routes through the city
There are different walking routes mapped out in the city of Breda, below is an overview of the nicest routes.
Art route through the center: In the center of Breda you can find many statues and other forms of modern art. Here you will find the complete route of 3.6 kilometers.
Rail route: Start at the railway station and walk through the Spoorstraat towards the Academiesingel. Walk under the tracks on Belcrumweg and spot Ben Eine's Blind Walls. Just after crossing the tracks you will find the Spoorpark on your right, located behind the Courthouse. Walk through this and continue your route along Stationslaan. Choose to walk back via Terheijdense weg, or make an extra loop by walking out of Stationslaan and turning right at Doornboslaan and then walking back to the station via Ceresstraat. Short route: 2.3 kilometers, Long route: 3.6 kilometers.
Along the Singels: Want to do a small city walk? Then follow the canals! Start at city park Valkenberg and follow the Academiesingel. Continue along Tramsingel, Weerijsingel, Vredenburchsingel and Chassésingel. Via the Wilhelminasingel and the Oranjesingel you return to the Valkenberg park. A nice round trip and along the way you come across various historical sights and Blind Walls. Length of route: 5.6 kilometers.
